Six steps to glowing skin

It may seem straightforward, but many women report not knowing how to wash their face correctly or realize that they are not washing their face properly at all. Neglecting to remove all residual makeup and leaving dirt smudged into the crevices of our face or under our eyes is a common nightly occurrence. Cleansing your face of daily impurities, reflecting a glowing clean face and maintaining a healthy foundation is the purpose of daily skin care .

AQ 6-STEP GUIDE:

 STEP 1: Remove Make-up

Remove all makeup using either a cleansing milk based makeup remover or make-up facial wipes, preferably biodegradable.  This ensures you are not rubbing your eye makeup into your skin but removing it easily and quickly.

DO remove all your eye makeup before washing your face. Eye makeup is primarily composed of miniscule particles of colored dust that if not washed away properly actually etches fine lines into the eyelid and surrounding area.

DO NOT use an alcohol-based makeup remover.  Alcohol damages your facial skin and the sensitive skin around your eyes by stripping the moisture and naturally occurring oils in your skin.

STEP 2: Cleanse

This is the most important step! DYK you should ALWAYS cleanse on dry skin first? Be sure to gently massage your cleaner for 30-60 seconds, rinse and cleanse again. Double cleansing is the best way to prep your skin for serums and product.

DO pat dry your facial skin. The skin on your face is delicate.

DO NOT vigorously dry your newly washed skin with a towel.

 STEP 3: Toner

A toner should be immediately used to lock the moisture into your freshly washed skin and help maintain a youthful glow.

DO use a gentle, chemical free toner.

DO NOT use toners with parabens, alcohol, perfumes or petroleum products. These ingredients do not aid in the health of your skin.

STEP 4: INTERCEPT Hyaluronic Serum & Moisturizer.

Age Quencher’s INTERCEPT Serum and Moisturizer hydrates the skin, helps replenish collagen and reduces the appearance of fine lines, leaving a glowing radiant face.

DO use a serum with hyaluronic acid.  Hyaluronic acid is proven to be a valuable ingredient in the fight against aging.

DO NOT apply INTERCEPT to a dry face. The moisture from your toner or cleanse will ensure proper absorption.

STEP 5: Eye Cream

Apply a gentle cream to the eye and upper lip area.  Unbeknownst to most women, the skin around the upper lip and the eyelids are strikingly similar, as opposed to the skin composing the cheek, forehead and chin.

DO apply eye cream in a gentle patting motion all around the eye including upper lid, inside and outside corners, and the lower eye area.

DO NOT apply eye moisturizer in a sweeping motion. The skin in this area is ultra sensitive and does not benefit from any slight pulling or rubbing.

STEP 6: Optional Crem

For many, INTERCEPT is all they need. For more mature or dry skin, finish with a soothing gentle moisturizing cream. A smooth circular motion is best used to penetrate the facial skin. Avoid the eye area.

DO use a quick-absorbing facial moisturizer, especially at night. The last thing you want is your glowing, radiant facial skin sliding against a pillow all night.

DO NOT settle for poor quality beauty products that claim too-good-to-be-true results.  And don’t be fooled into purchasing exorbitantly expensive beauty products made out of rare ingredients like snail mucus or fish roe.

Invest in quality made, substantiated health and beauty products for your face that feel good, improve your skin tone and provide proven reliable results.  Your face is worth it!
